One Way

Director

LOGLINE:

Cesar is coming back to Spain for a friends reunion after spending a year as an expat abroad. His friends have moved on without him and his fears of detachment become very present as Julio is constantly reminding him of what he has missed. But has he? Or moving on is accepting that we can’t be everywhere at the same time? The film has been shot, and now we need your help to enter festivals!

We spend our lives transitioning and arriving. If we’re ready to move on —whether it’s leaving a city, a job, a relationship— we plan the heck out of our departure.

One Way is the story about the sacrifices made by those who leave their hometown to live like expats in the search of something better. Of how often expats become detached from their home places but can’t still fit in the new place.

Once Cesar decides to enter the house, the actions elapses in a 10 minute continuous oner shot with actors going through it all in one time. There is, however, one “hidden” cut. The whole idea was to express how a decision can take you through a whirlwind of unedited emotions, with no “fixing in post”.

7 people at a dinner reunion, a steadicam operator and a crew of 20 will dance to a 15 minute oner (one shot) carefully rehearsed to perfection. Lighting and set dressing will change live during the take and every single detail will be finely tuned to get ONE WAY, and one only, made. The one way you chose when you decide to move abroad.

Crowdfunding is love-funding. Help take ONE WAY to festivals!

CROWDFUNING

Love Sharing

Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet. Crowdfunding is a form of crowdsourcing and of alternative finance.

One Way was funded with $25000 coming from lent equipment, bank loan, family and friends. And we’re still in need of the last push to be able to take it to festivals. Festival entries add up to an additional $2000, so we created an indiegogo campaign for this particular purpose:
