María works with her brother Ángel in a family business—the town’s industrial mill—which she left behind years ago. A place marked by isolation and the silent tensions of its inhabitants. Exiled there by circumstances that have estranged her from the world, María works methodically to survive, while Ángel’s friends watch her return with quiet satisfaction, relishing what they see as her personal failure. Ángel hires Miquel, and between him and María, a mutual admiration begins to grow. María recognizes in Miquel a kindred spirit—someone who shares her loneliness and invisible scars. The presence of this outsider stirs unease: Miquel has been to prison, and there is something mystical about him, something that seems to influence those around him.

Amid the routine of the mill and the village’s watchful eyes, an intimate connection blossoms between them—one that will challenge both their surroundings and their own emotional walls.
